In June of 1993, Raymond Heinz started working in Leipzig Germany with one goal in mind: To make Bell one of the strongest companies in our industry in Europe.

Already a long time before the German reunification, the American family-owned company, Bell Flavors & Fragrances, was looking for an appropriate production facility in Europe. One of the main reasons was the global orientation of Bell US customers with their own production facilities in Europe.

A short time after the German reunification, Bell tried to take over the Miltitz Company, but the American engagement seemed to fall at the first glance.

Over a 2 year period the trust company "Treuhand" negotiated with different companies like the German prospect Hüls AG.

But the tide has turned in favor of Bell -- since June 1, 1993 Bell got the acceptance for their plans and an exciting European history started...
